The Club Hotel & Spa has just launched its Bohemian Afternoon Tea Collection this June 2014. Inspired by the summer months and the hotel’s idyllic Island setting, pastries include Gariguette Strawberry & Mint Iced Lolly, and seashell-shaped Pina Colada Délice.
Jersey has a population of about 10,000 Portuguese and Madeiran people, and their culture and food have been celebrated here for a number of years. The annual Portuguese Food Festival now attracts many thousands of visitors. This year the festival will return to the People’s Park where, as well as the bacalhau, espetadas and custard tarts on offer, there will be live music and fairground rides.

Another local tradition that is being kept alive is black butter making which uses the season’s crop of apples.Organised by the National Trust for Jersey, the weekend sees volunteers spending hours peeling, stirring and bottling one of Jersey’s traditional delicacies that has been made on farms for centuries.
